Accent Inns-Russ Hay’s Cycling Team set for 2015

British Columbia-based squad Accent Inns-Russ Hay’s Cycling Team has taken on some new blood for the 2015 season, including new director sportif Ben Chaddock, the 2012 Canadian criterium national champion. Chaddock raced for Garneau-Québecor last season.

Accent Inns-Russ Hay’s Cycling retains its two marquee cyclists, Cody Canning and Curtis Dearden, both of Victoria. Canning took top honours in the 2014 Grand Prix Cycliste Pro Sprint Challenge and was chosen for Team Canada at the Tour of Alberta. Dearden was the 2013 Canadian national time trial champion, coming ninth this season. He intends to take that title back from Svein Tuft next year.

New additions to the team include current BC chrono champ Jordan Landolt, Italian Federico Marchiori from HR Block, and two current national cyclocross champions–Danick Vandale (U23) and Oliver Evans (Junior) who will move to BC from Manitoba.

Accent Inns-Russ Hay’s Cycling will keep riding Specialized machines, specifically the Tarmac and Venge models.

In a press release, general manager Jon Watkins said, “Every year, we seem to raise the bar of excellence. In 2014 we won 50 races and had over 100 top ten finishes. We took the BC Provincial road and criterium titles, and had two top ten placements in the National TT Championships in Quebec. The icing on the cake was having Cody Canning win the Grand Prix Cycliste Pro Sprint Challenge against some WorldTour guys. In 2015, we plan to continue to produce breakthrough results, but with a stronger focus on major criterium and circuit races.”
