Jeremy Christensen was accused by the bike’s owner of attempted theft and was arrested on the scene by San Luis Obispo Police. Officers say that in his possession were a pair of bolt cutters, which were reportedly used to cut the lock securing the bike to a rack on the owner’s vehicle.

Two people who allegedly witnessed the attempted robbery alerted the owner who confronted the thief before he was able to escape. With the help of one of the witnesses, the owner restrained Christensen who was attempting to flee until police arrived on the scene.

The thief was arrested on suspicion of grand theft, possession of burglary tools and the possession of paraphernalia when a hypodermic needle was found in his possession. His bail was set for US$20,000.
