As the official bike sponsor of the newly-formed Cylance Pro Cycling Team, a squad that will start at the inaugural UCI Women’s WorldTour, Cannondale has taken its support of women’s elite-level racing to a new level.

The brand—part of Cycling Sports Group, a subsidiary of Dorel Industries—made the announcement on Feb. 5.

“Cannondale has sponsored some of the most famous and recognizable teams in cycling history,” said Brian Immel, the vice president of Cannondale’s global marketing division, “and we are proud to increase our involvement in elite racing in 2016 with the addition of the Cylance Pro Cycling Team. We believe that these world-class athletes racing at the UCI Women’s WorldTour level will be an inspiration to the growing global women’s cycling community.”

Cannondale’s support of the U.S.-based women’s team will feature some of the brand’s award-winning bikes, including the Slice RS, the Synapse and the SuperSix EVO. In their saddles will be a roster of elite, world-class athletes, including Shelley Olds, Krista Doebel-Hickok and Alison Tetrick of the United States, Rosella Ratto of Italy, Sheyla Gutierrez of Spain, Doris Schweizer of Switzerland, and representing Saint Kitts and Nevis, Katheryn Bertine.

With an eye on contention at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Cylance Pro Cycling will race the full Women’s WorldTour calendar throughout the 2016 season.

Officials with the team’s title sponsor Cylance, of course—a U.S.-based cybersecurity company—are especially optimistic about what the pairing of the two companies, supporting Elite women’s cycling, might mean going forward. But nothing inspires that optimism quite like the athletes who will call the squad home this season.

“This partnership between Cannondale and Cylance brings together powerhouses in both professional cycling and cybersecurity, combining art, strength and strategy to overcome complex challenges and achieve success,” said Stuart McClure, the company’s CEO. “The dedication, discipline, perseverance and drive to win of these Cylance Pro Cycling team members is a perfect reflection of the Cylance culture and we are proud that they will each wear the Cylance jersey.”
