Interview with Svein Tuft of Orica-GreenEdge at the 2014 Tour de France

Outside the Orica-GreenEdge team bus, before the sign-in for the 17th stage of the 2014 Tour de France, Svein Tuft discussed the French Grand Tour. It was the second of three days in the Pyrenees. Throughout Stages 16, 17 and 18, the peloton would climb up eight categorized climbs: four HC, three Cat. 1 and one Cat. 2.

“Yesterday [Stage 16] was a war, and I’m expecting more of the same today,” Svein said. “The Pyrenees are difficult, especially towards the end of the tour where you have a GC battle. That could really blow the race apart, and I expect something like that to happen today.”

Svein is the first current Canadian road champion to compete in the Tour with the maple leaf on his chest.
