Jasmin Glaesser on her Pan Am Games

Jasmin Glaesser

Jasmin Glaesser took four medals at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. She and Laura Brown, Allison Beveridge and Kristi Lay got gold in team pursuit. Later, Glaesser get silver in the omnium. After the track, it was on to the road: silver in the individual time trial. Glaesser, with the help of Beveridge and Lay, sealed the cycling medal count for the women with a gold in the road race.

Glaesser spoke about how, between different events , she worked to keep her focus and maximize recovery. “It obviously worked out, not just for me but my teammates as well,” she added with a smile.

Now that the Games are over, she is headed to Colorado to do some work in the road bike. The leadup to Pan Am was track-heavy because the events in the Milton velodrome were a priority. In August, she’ll be in France with her team, Optum presented by Kelly Benefit Strategies, for a stage race.  In September, there’s a strong chance she’ll ride with her team in Richmond at the world championships in the team time trial. “I was part of the team that won the U.S. national professional time trial back in April, so I think we have a really good chance to perform in front of an American crowd,” she said. “I definitely hope to be a part of that squad. I think that a big goal for us, to build on [Optum’s] fourth place from last year.”
