Rider takes terrifying spill down drop-off
Video shared by former pro Joaquim Rodriguez shows rider promptly hop back on his bike apparently uninjured
UPDATE: A former version of this article incorrectly stated the rider was Joaquim Rodriguez.
Joaquim Rodriguez shared a scary video of a cyclist heading full steam down a descent and crashing into a road barrier before plummeting off a drop off into a forested area. It was a frightening moment that was captured by a chest-mounted camera mounted on the identified rider. RodrÃguez’s posted the video to his Twitter on Monday along with a caption in Spanish that translates to:
The behavior of a cyclist when you fall!!
First: I am okay?
Second: what about my bike??
Third: fix the lever and continue!
Comportamiento de un ciclista cuando te caes!!
Primero: Estoy bien
Segundo: Como está mi bici??
Tercero: Poner bien la maneta y continuar!?? pic.twitter.com/rtWJn28w4C— Joaquim RodrÃguez (@PuritoRodriguez) January 16, 2017
The rider heading full steam down a descent appears to miscalculate his trajectory around a right-hand corner. As he tries to right his course it quickly becomes obvious he won’t be able to adjust his line. He goes head-on into a metal barrier and drops down a vertical drop off into a forested area.

After composing himself after the crash he scrambles out of the woods and remounts his bike which appears to have not gone with him. The riders who were behind him ask multiple time if he is alright which he responds that he is. He remounts his bike, makes a couple adjustments to his bars and pulls a stick from his helmet before riding off.
