Canadian Michael “Rusty” Woods will ride his first race for new team Cannondale at the first WorldTour event of the season, the Santos Tour Down Under from January 19-24. Woods will apparently join another new Cannondale Pro Cycling Team arrival, Dutchman Wouter Wippert, who transferred from Drapac.

Cannondale hasn’t officially confirmed its lineup, but Woods has been training in Australia over the holiday season and posting photos of Down Under on Twitter linked to his Instagram. Rusty has also has a Twitter profile photo up of him in a Cannondale kit topped with an orange Optum helmet.

Woods is the second Canadian making a debut with a new team at the TDU–Ryder Hesjedal is among the new Trek-Segafredo riders in the first WorldTour competition of 2016. The team recently released headshots of new fellows Hesjedal, Peter Stetina, Jack Bobridge and Kiel Reijnen, who will all race in Australia.
