Canadian Cycling Magazine had a chance to have a close-up look at Raphaël Gagné’s Cannondale F-SI Black Inc. he was on at the Sea Otter Classic (April 15 to April 17). The Canadian national cross country mountain bike champion is headed to Australia for the first round of the World Cup in Cairns that gets underway April 23. Gagné has a relaxed approached to his season in an Olympic year and is sitting in first place in the USA Cycling Pro Mountain Bike Cross Country Tour.

Gagné runs Enve M50 wheels with Shimano XTR brakes.
The stays are wide and flat for maximum stiffness.
Gagné’s setup is slammed.
His XTR pedals look well worn.
Cannondale’s Lefty has an unusual look.
The electronic cable routing is internal but the hydraulic cables run on the outside of the frame, much to the mechanic’s relief.
Enve wheels are laced to DT240 hubs.
He rides the Black Inc., Cannondale’s top level F-SI.
On an otherwise full XTR build, the chain is SRAM XX1 and Cannondale’s proprietary SISL 2 crankset.
