Organizers of the Coupe des Nations – Ville de Saguenay, a 2.Ncup for under-23 riders, will replace that event with a new UCI 2.2 sanctioned Grand Prix Cycliste de Saguenay. The race will be held from June 5 to 8 in Quebec next summer.

The previous race was apart of the Coupe de Nations under-23 series, which generally hosted events in Europe for riders 19 to 22 years old. The race held its sixth edition in June, a three-day race won by Kazakhstan’s Sonder Holst Enger ahead of runner-up from France Alexis Gougeard and Colombia’s Diego Ochoa in third.

The new event is registered on the America Tour and joins other  Canadian races on the professional circuit; UCI 2.2 Tour de Beauce in June, UCI 1.2 Tour de Delta in July, UCI 2.1 Tour of Alberta in the beginning of September and the WorldTour Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec and Montréal in mid-September.
