Firemen’s Park Cross runs Sunday in Niagara Falls

The fourth edition of the Firemen’s Park Cross blazes into Niagara Falls on Oct. 19 and will feature course enhancements making this year’s event even bigger and better than before.

Niagara-based Team 905 Cycling — in partnership with local autism and cystic fibrosis-related charities — hosts Sunday’s third stop on the 2014 provincial cyclocross series.

The race boasts more prizes, ample space for team tents and a licensed area serving beer from local craft brewery Silversmith Brewing Company.

Firemen’s Park is easily accessible from the QEW and features amenities such as indoor washrooms, a bike wash, free parking and a playground for racers and spectators with small children.

To encourage junior riders to come out and tackle the course, entry fees are just $15 for those racing under-15 and under-17. Plus, Outdoors Oriented in St. Catharines has offered to cover entry fees for 10 random under-15 and under-17 participants.

Pre-registration closes Thursday at midnight, so sign up here to avoid paying higher day-of registration fees (cash only day-of).
