Specialized and Strava Partner on Performance Sharing Social Media

stravaOn April 1, Specialized announced a new partnership with Strava. Strava are well-known in the cycling community as a social media platform allowing local courses to be tracked and times recorded. Cyclists of all abilities are able to compare their rides over the same course to other riders’ performances.

Specialized and Strava have launched Shop Pages which are currently available to select Specialized dealers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia. The Shop Pages are customized Strava pages containing unique personal information including shop routes and local leaderboards. Strava shop pages will be like a cycling specific Facebook page that further engages the consumer.

Given that Strava is a targeted social media platform for cyclists, Specialized stated that they want use it to build on the website’s existing functionality to improve the rider experience.

The press release announcing this partnership didn’t give a specific release date for when these pages will available to all Specialized dealers. However Specialized did state that Strava Shop Pages will be available to all bike retailers by the end of the summer.
