Canada Cup racing is ramping up towards this weekend’s Canadian XCO championships with an east coast race weekend in Dieppe, New Brunswick. With nationals just around the corner, there was a strong turn-out and fast racing all weekend.

Elite: Smith and Clark show speed in Dieppe

Haley Smith (Maxxis Factory Racing) showed she’s somehow able to switch between nine-hour races and 90-minute efforts, taking the elite women’s win. Smith put 58 seconds into second place finisher Juliette Tétreault (CC de l’Academie). McKenzie Myatt (Cyclesmith) rolled in for third, a good sign that the Nova Scotia racer is looking forward to racing XCO nationals on home turf this weekend in Kentville.

Owen Clark (Hockly Valley Resort Armada) outsprinted Andrew L’Esperance (Maxxis Factory Racing) at the line to win in Dieppe. Reigning national champion Peter Disera followed three seconds later in a very close men’s XCO finish.
