The 2019 Canadian XCO championships delivered the goods on a hot day of racing at Hardwood Ski and Bike in Oro-Mendonte. Peter Disera and Emily Batty were repeat champions in the elite races while Laurie Arsenault and Quinton Disera took U23 titles.
The undulating course had climbs, rock garden descents and flowing single track so strong riders had plenty of places to put the real pressure on their rivals. Spectators lined the course on a day where the temperatures hovered around 33 C with the humidex in the 40s.
Elite and under-23 races
Haley Smith, Catherine Pendrel and defending champion Emily Batty were the elite women's favourties.
