Trek’s announcement also quiets rumors that Canadian national champion Emily Batty might be moving on from the team. Batty, who has been with Trek much of her career, will remain with Trek Factory Racing XC “for 2019 and beyond,” according to the teams press release.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Jolanda Neff to Trek,” Batty said of her new teammate, “and I know that we’ll be able to bring the best out of each other in racing and training,”

“I’m extremely excited to join the Trek family,” said Neff. “I am passionate about their philosophy of developing strong women’s programs alongside their men’s teams. It’s also a great pleasure that I will be able to race in MTB, CX, and road, all under the same family of teams.”

Jolanda Neff ‘s main focus will remain on World Cup mountain biking. The Swiss rider will also be making appearances for Trek Factory Racing Cyclocross and the recently announced Trek-Segafredo women’s road team.

Neff had a string of impressive results at cyclocross World Cup’s last season before breaking her arm in a crash with Pauline Ferrand-Prevot. The multi-talented cyclist also competed in the 2018 UCI Road world championships, in Innsbruck, Austria. Neff finished with the front group, behind the eventual race winner Anna van der Breggen.

Trek’s announcement confirms that Emily Batty will remain with Trek Factory Racing XC after her remarkable 2018 season. Batty closed 2018 with a string of five World Cup podiums before capturing the bronze medal at 2018 UCI mountain bike world championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
