We’re now just one day away from Red Bull Rampage 2019 and riders are busy dialing in the final details of their runs.

Canadian freeride pioneer Darren Barrecloth is back in Virgin, Utah for another year of Rampage. After announcing his retirement ahead of the event last year, Barrecloth isn’t competing. But he is tapped by Red Bull for a course preview.

All the physical challenges stack on top of the mental pressure. Rampage is the biggest event of the year for many of these freeriders. With just two runs to prove themselves, the stakes are high and the pressure is immense.

With the dig days mostly done, riders are busy dialing in their lines. In the Sundown Sessions, competitors squeeze in an extra couple hours of practice in the dying light of the Utah desert. The late evening session is essential for riders, and scenic as all get out for those of us watching from behind a screen at home.
