Trek-Segafredo releases 2019 kit

Trek adds black sleeves to red and white of the men's kit, women have a mix of blues

The road season just recently ended for Trek-Segafredo, but the American WorldTour outfit is looking forward to 2019 already. On Friday, it unveiled its 2019 kit, which takes the men’s squad’s red and white colour scheme and sews on some black sleeves.

Belgian Jasper Stuyven, who was the top WorldTour points-getter for the team in 2018, modeled the new duds on social media. Stuyven ranked 19th in the WorldTour individual standings, while the squad was 13th out of 18 teams. Quick Step was top of the table, while Dimension Data was last.

Next season, Trek-Segafredo will have Richie Porte, Edward Theuns and Will Clarke joining the gang, along with–after some confusion and speculation about Sky–Ivan Sosa, a promising young Colombian who prevailed over Angel “Superman” Lopez to win the Vuelta a Burgos and led the Tour of the Alps for a day.

On the women’s side, Lizzie Deignan commented on the kit, which features a mix of blues with white for the new squad. “I’m really excited about the new Trek-Segafredo kit from Santini and can’t wait to start wearing it for training and racing,” Deignan said. “Trek and Santini have done a great job designing something that is both functional and stylish. The team is excited about wearing it because it looks good and it is technically second to none, so it will be brilliant for performance, too.”

The 2019 WorldTour starts in 74 days with the Santos Tour Down Under.
