Rochette earns Quebec’s mountain biker of the year award

Maghalie Rochette earned the mountain biker of the year award from the Fédération Québécoise des Sports Cyclistes (FQSC) for her accomplishments during the 2013 season. The prestigious award was presented to her at the annual FQSC gala on Sunday.

Rochette, who is relatively new to the racing circuit, was a podium finisher in the under-23 cross country national championships and placed ninth at the under-23 world championships.

Her off-road success continued during the cyclocross season where she earned top-10 places racing with U.S.-based Cyclocrossworld.com squad at CrossVegas, Green Mountain Cyclocross, Trek CXC Cup, Gran Prix of Gloucester and Providence Cyclo-cross Festival, and Cycle-Smart International.

She has signed a contract to compete with the Luna Pro Team for the following mountain bike season, alongside her fellow countryman Catharine Pendrel.
