Guillaume Boivin and Hugo Houle on the Vuelta’s provisional start list

Early Friday, the long list for the Vuelta a Espana was announced. Included in the list were two Canadian WorldTour riders Guillaume Boivin (Cannondale) and Hugo Houle (Ag2r).

Boivin recently pulled off a string of top results at the Tour de Polonge where he finished fourth on stage one and eighth on stage two. Boivin is currently racing in the Arctic Race of Norway where he placed 21st on the opening stage and 17th earlier today on stage two.

Houle is fresh from of his return to racing at the Tour de Wallonie, where he featured in a break-away with fellow Canadian, Antoine Duchesne (Team Europecar). Houle also raced the Tour de Pologne, he placed 27th in the stage 7 time trial.

It is expected that final rosters will be announced next week as the final grand tour of the season is scheduled to start on August 23.
