Mounting Stubborn Tires

Oh man. Getting a tire on a rim can be a struggle, especially on tubeless setups with tight tolerances. If you are having trouble, start by ensuring that one of the tire’s beads is in the exact centre of the rim. There’s a channel there. By making sure the bead is in the channel, you’ll have the most “slack” as you make your way around the circumference of the wheel. I usually start opposite the valve. A tubeless valve can keep me from getting the maximum amount of slack from the channel. But, I’m not dogmatic . . .
