The soil of the region is great for its vineyards, but it also makes for gravel and singletrack of fine vintage

After bombing down a wide road with seriously rocky gravel, clutching the drops on my gravel bike, I exhaled deeply as the forest road spit me out onto a rail trail in front of a big canyon sky. Ahead, the trail followed a cliff, then curved around the mountain and headed over a trestle bridge. On the trestle that spans Pooley Creek, I was more than 55 m above the Myra Canyon on B.C.’s Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR).
