The Riding is On Point

Essex County, the southernmost spot in the country, has top-notch cycling
Day 1 was a head-clearing 90-km ramble along parts of the Chrysler Canada Greenway System from Kingsville, Ont., through Amherstburg to 227-year-old Fort Malden and then back around. Staghorn sumac, trumpet vines and dogwood lined the trail. Dozens of birds swooped overhead but not one was chirping. It was so hot that when I took a selfie at the ice-cream place, I scared myself. I had to hang out until my crimson face went back to its normal colour.
