Pinarello is headquatered in a nondescript industrial warehouse on the outskirts of the town of Treviso, the same sleepy town in which Giovanni started working more than 60 years ago. Although the bikes are cutting edge, the place still has an Old World feel.
Like many storied Italian marques, Pinarello started when the eponymous founder Giovanni Pinarello hung up his cleats as a pro and started a frame building business as a retirement plan. Unlike many of the smaller Italian brands, however, Pinarello have embraced modern technology in their frames and remained at the forefront of cycling as one of the premier brands in the peloton. This desire to innovate and improve flourished under the Giovanni’s son, Fausto Pinarello, who has guided Pinarello to where it is today—ridden to 10 Tour de France wins since 1988, and one of the most sought after high-end road brands.
