To commemorate Fabian Cancellara’s final time at the Tour de France, Trek presented the Swiss rider with a custom painted Trek Madone. The Madone’s paint scheme is inspired by the colours of all the teams that Cancellara has ridden for during his career, including such storied lineups as Mapei, Fassa Bortolo, CSC and of course his current team Trek Segafredo. The Trek Madone is also detailed with Cancellara’s extensive palmares.

According to Matt Shriver, Trek’s technical team liaison to Trek Segafredo, Cancellara’s Trek Madone is custom beyond just the paint job to include custom bars and saddle.

When you have a palmares as long and impressive as Cancellara's, you get your own nickname on the down tube
Each splash of colour represents one of the teams that Cancellara rode for in his career. How many do you recognize?
Listed on top of the top tube are Cancellara's major victories
Listed along both seat stays and chain stays are Cancellara's more minor wins. With over 100 victories in his career, there are a lot to fit on the frame
Trek produces a custom version of the Madone's integrated bar and stem for Cancellara. According to Shriver the stock bars broad aero top surface shortened Cancellara's reach too much on the bar top, affecting his fit. So Trek produced this set of one off bar/stem with an even more truncated airfoil shape to suit Cancellara
In addition to the truncated top, the bends of the bars are also custom for Cancellara, in his preferred ergo bend
Cancellara prefers the now discontinued Bontrager Team Issue saddle, but his is customized with much firmer padding than stock, there is virtually no give
Unlike the rest of the peloton, Cancellara has a noted preference for a mechanical drivetrain. He is the only Trek-Segafredo rider not on Shimano Di2. This is Cancellara's spare bike, so it doesn't have an SRM, the two bikes are otherwise identical
The hatch on the down tube cleverly houses the barrel adjuster for the derailleur cables. On a Di2 set up, this would house the junction box and battery
According to Shriver, Cancellara will run Bontrager Aeolus 5 wheels on most stages.
