Mach 5 – $4,299
Pivot Cycles
13049

Fairly new to the Canadian market, Pivot cycles was launched in 2007 by one of the guys who started Titus Bikes in the early 1990s. The Mach 5 is Pivot’s take on an all-mountain bike using the renowned DW Link suspension design. Its 140mm of travel is not super plush, but that’s how Pivot’s designers wanted it. The Mach 5 is meant to handle all-day rides and marathon-style racing, without wasting any effort on suspension bob. It’s available in five sizes from extra small to extra large and in five colour options. Though the photo above shows a Shimano build, complete Pivot bikes are available in Canada with SRAM drivetrains only. The all-mountain build uses an X.9 drivetrain with Truvativ Stylo cranks, Avid Elixir brakes, RockShox Revelation 50mm fork, Mavic wheels and truvativ bar and stem.
