DVD: New World Disorder 10

New World Disorder series is coming to an end with NWD 10 Dust & Bones.

Directed by Derek Westerlund

When Derek Westerlund first captured freeride mountain biking on film in the late 1990s, he couldn’t possibly have known how legendary his movies would become. Ten years and 10 adrenaline-filled videos later, Freeride Entertainment’s New World Disorder series is coming to an end with NWD 10 Dust & Bones. Shot on location in B.C., Utah, Oregon, Nevada, California and Italy, this final installment in the series might be the best mountain biking film ever made.

Visually stunning, the movie was shot in high definition using Freeride’s typical creative style and shooting locations. Most notably, the crew built a series of dirt jumps on a 300-foot barge in San Francisco Bay and filmed riders hitting massive stunts with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.

The New World Disorder films have always featured a top-notch rider list, and the Class of NWD10 includes the biggest names in freeriding from Greg Watts and Cam Zink to Wayne Goss, Aaron Chase, Robbie Bourdon and, of course, ‘The Claw’ Darren Berrecloth. The series has never skimped on its music and the final NWD comes through again with heart-pounding tunes that fit the scenery perfectly from bands like Muse, Phoenix and Wolfmother.

Whether you’re a freerider or not, Dust & Bones is worth checking out for any cyclist. For the big hit crowd, it’s the ultimate motivator and for the two-wheels-on-the-ground types, it’s an eye opener into another side of the sport. Available in Canada through Ryeka Sport at ryekasport.com.
