Shimano SH – WM81

With the introduction of the SH – WM81, female mountain bikers can now enjoy the same off-road footwear performance men often take for granted. Starting with the sole Shimano uses its carbon fibre expertise and creates a carbon-reinforced unit that delivers stiffness, low eight and excellent durability. The upper also employs a similar sensibly selected blend of materials including robust synthetic fabrics, breathable mesh and carefully positioned reinforcements. The closure consists of two velcro-style straps and a micro-adjustable buckle while two removable toe spikes deliver the necessary traction for running up hill. But all these features are worthless unless the shoes actually fit women’s feet. Thankfully, Shimano also recognizes this concern and builds the SH – WM81 on a women’s specific last that provides a snug heel fit while avoiding any pressure-points in the forefoot. An excellent option for female riders.
