This impressive safety-to-weight ratio is achieved thanks to the use of a double-density EPS and the Kevlar-reinforced inner matrix which together save weight and allow for massive vents. With 18 large vents, the Sterling offers excellent ventilation for warm-weather riding, but it’s the addition of the dual-purpose exposed reinforcement rib that sets this helmet apart from the competition. Not only does this rib add strength, but it also provides a secure resting spot for expensive sunglasses. Finally, Rudy Project includes a removable internal mesh bug-stop, which prevents insects from entering the large vents and smacking against a cyclist’s head.
