On Thursday, Hunt launched the 42 Limitless Gravel Adventure wheels. The new hoops are designed to offer exceptional aerodynamic performance, specifically tailored for fast, fully-loaded ultra-adventures. The wheelset has been developed with the support of HUNT Beyond athletes, with a clear focus on achieving victories in major ultra-endurance races like the Traka, Unbound XL, and the Silk Road Mountain Race.
The wheel is centered around the aerodynamic 42 Limitless rim profile. The specifications are purpose-built for this purpose, featuring an increased spoke count in both the front and rear, along with brass nipples throughout. Additionally, it is equipped with an ultra-durable J-bend H_Ratchet hubset, which employs a dual-sided, floating ratchet drive system offering 9-degree engagement. These components have been carefully selected to ensure durability and reliability even under the added weight and torque experienced during steep, long-distance touring with full luggage.
According to Hunt, The aerodynamic efficiency of this gravel-specific wheelset, backed by wind tunnel testing, has been demonstrated to outperform all other tested wheelsets under 50 mm depth. Hunt claims riders can expect to save up to 0.12 Watts compared to competitors and 16.8 Watts when compared to non-aero gravel wheels.
