Olympia’s aero road bike with disc brakes

LEADEROlympia has taken two trends and put them into one bike. The Italian brand has released its 2014 Leader, an aero road bike with disc brakes.

The Leader’s frame is built from a combination of three carbon-fibres types: T800, T700 and M30. It’s available in two stock builds: one a mix of SRAM Red and Force components, the other, full SRAM Red.

Overall, Olympia’s main objective was to create a bike that integrated improved braking, aerodynamics and design. The company says the frame’s asymmetric design allows the bike to be more responsive without compromising aerodynamics. The frame also features shorter chainstays that allow the bike to handle with a greater sharpness and agility. In the front, the head tube forms an airfoil for increased aerodynamics. There is also an aero feature at the back: what the Olympus calls a “spoiler” between the seat tube and the seatstays.
