Trek bikes unveiled a new women’s road bike aimed at making riding easier and more comfortable, especially over longer distances. Dubbed the Silque and available in four trim levels, Trek promises that new innovations in frames will drive the capabilities of the new bike.

“The Silque takes the customization of women’s road bikes to a new level,” said Trek Women’s Product Manager Amanda Schulze. “When comparing female and male athletes on the same frame size, professional training data shows that most female athletes place less stress on the frame.”

The new frame is a customer tuned in each size option and made of OCLV carbon fibre, tailored to the unique power to weight ratio of most women. Month of testing led to an all-new frame design that offers greater stand over combined with a longer wheelbase to ensure it remains smooth and comfortable on long rides.

The frame also includes the IsoSpeed technology previously developed in the men’s Domane model. The decoupler allows greater compliance from the seat post and seat tube to help absorb rough conditions and ease the fatigue caused by poor road conditions.
