Two sets of hoops that will meet your aero needs
Gear editor Gus Alexandropoulos looks at the Roval Rapide CLX 40 and 60 wheelsets. The “40” refers to the rim depth in millimetres as does “60.” You can use the CLX 40 as an all-round wheelset, from group rides to races. If your aero requirements are more demanding, the CLX 60 is the weapon of choice. Both sets have proprietary braking surfaces to add consistency to stopping. Also, both carbon-clincher wheels create a rounder tire shape, which improves aerodynamics and the rubber’s contact patch. DT Swiss is behind the ceramic bearings and the freehubs.
