British champion headed to Canada for Ontario races

Five-time British national champion Helen Wyman is racing this weekend's Tour of Bronte.

Five-time British national champion Helen Wyman has confirmed her attendance for the first-ever Tour of Bronte bike race in Oakville, Ontario this weekend. The event will take place Sunday, April 11 with races on unique circuit made up of both paved and unpaved roads. Wyman is arriving in Canada Friday for her first race here and will stay in Ontario for the Paris to Ancaster Classic April 18. She’ll be tough to beat in the 80km elite women’s race, although Canadian Sue Palmer Komar, of Hamilton, will try to make things interesting.

On the 100km men’s side, St. Catharines rider Nathan Chown is one of the favourites, along with Jet Fuel racing teammates Kevin Hazzard and Joe Guliano. More than $5,000 is up for grabs in the Tour of Bronte’s five races, which are separated by age and abilities.
