British public difficult to get commuting by bike
Cycling seen as the province of children and hardcore enthusiasts
“Across the pond”, cycling advocates and government efforts have failed to get more Britons to commute by bicycle, and the reason seems to be how cycling is perceived. An interesting article in The Guardian this week explores the cultural barriers which keep there from being more Welsh, Northern Irish, English and Scottish riders.
