At the Ellison Park Cyclocross Festival in Rochester, N.Y., Sunday, Canada’s Maghalie Rochette rode to second place in the women’s UCI C2 race, coming across the line just behind Caroline Mani, who took the win for the second day running. Danny Summerhill claimed the top spot in the men’s C2 event.

Rochette made the decisive move in the women’s contest, attacking out of a small group with a few laps to go. Only Mani and Meredith Miller were able to follow. Miller was soon dropped, leaving Mani and Rochette in the lead. Mani eventually proved strongest, out climbing Rochette when it mattered. Rochette held on for second. Miller came third. Canada’s Natasha Elliot put in a strong showing, coming 12th at the end.

Saturday’s winner, Jeremy Powers opted not to start Sunday’s race for men, leaving the top spot on the podium open. Danny Summerhill claimed it with two laps to go, attacking from the leading group with Cameron Dodge on his wheel. Dodge could not follow for long, leaving Summerhill the victory. Lukas Winterberg rode in for third with a late charge. Four Canadians ended inside the top-twenty. Mike Garrigan was ninth. Evan McNeely was 14th. Derrick St.John was 18th. Kevin Noiles finished 20th.
