Canadian Cycling Association cancels four-cross national championship

No suitable venue cited as reason

The CCA announced today that it has canceled the 2011 Four-Cross National Championship. Finding no viable option available for a suitable venue, the national organization regrettably had to call off the event. The CCA must now tweak its criteria for athletes who want to ride on the national team at the World Championships.

The CCA has also encouraged those riders who are affected to try to race at the Mont-Saint-Anne UCI World Cup event July 1-3 where there will be cross-country, downhill and four-cross events. Riders should contact CCA mountain bike coordinator Nicholas Vipond by Wednesday, June 22 if they’re interested in Mont-Saint-Anne. nicolas.vipond@canadian-cycling.com
