A new American UCI women’s team launched on Tuesday, as Hagens Berman-Supermint joins the circuit with a balance of homegrown and foreign talent. In the squad’s ranks is Canadian Shoshauna Routley, who raced for BMW-Happy Tooth this season.

Other BMW-Happy Tooth riders on the roster are Swiss Jessica Uebelhart and Americans Liza Rachetto and Lindsay Bayer, who along with ex-Happy Tooth sports director Jono Coulter, owns Supermint Racing, law firm Hagens Berman’s partner.

On the team’s website, Bayer explains Supermint’s unique sister program with the Conceria Zabri Pro Cycling Teamin of Lucca, Italy: “We are in a unique position of having an open door for our athletes to spend stints in Europe racing top events with proper infrastructure and support whilst under the guidance of our organization.”

Hagens Bermen-Supermint rides Basque-built BH bikes. The 13-woman roster will assemble for a mid-February Southern California training camp. The team hopes to make its debut in early April at the Redlands Bicycle Classic invitational.
