Catching up with Audrey Lemieux

Audrey Lemieux is racing for her second season with France-based Team ESGL93.

Audrey Lemieux, 24 years old, is racing for a second season with the France-based Team ESGL93. Currently Lemieux is living in Montreal finishing off school and then she’ll move to France to live, race and train with her team mates.

Lemieux took some time out of her busy schedule of juggling school, work, and training to answer a few questions:

How are things going with the team?
This is my second year with this team and I’m looking forward to having another great year with them over in Europe.

It must be a big switch to racing full-time in Europe after racing in Canada?
Yes it’s a big switch compared to race in the United States. But it’s okay for me because I can’t start my season so early due to school, so it’s not too long for a season. Also, I’m trying to race a little bit in United States because I really like racing there.

What are your goals for the season?
I have some goals, like doing well at the national championships, earning some UCI points, have a good time during the season and improve as the races go.

What is your role on the team?
We don’t have a specific role on the team, but for sure, we are trying to help each other in many aspect of the racing. It really depends on the race situation, because it’s always different.

How is life in France?
I don’t live in France full time, because I’m working in Montreal and I’m going to school. But once I’m done with that, I will live with a team mate in France, this works really well. But, as you probably know, we are traveling a lot and I’m rarely staying to one spot for long!

Lemieux will kick off the season with the Tour of the Battenkill on April 10.
