CCA names elite women’s squad for Europe

Six riders from across the country will race for Canada in month-long European campaign

Two riders from B.C., two from Ontario and one each from Quebec and Manitoba have been named to the Canadian Cycling Association’s elite women’s spring European campaign. The six women will stay at the CCA’s national team base in Tielt, Belgium from April 1 to May 3 and will race in 10 events .

Making up the roster are B.C.’s Moriah MacGregor and Amy Dearden, Ontario’s Heather Logan and Denise Ramsden, Quebec’s Joanie Caron and Manitoba’s Leah Kirchmann.

The team will race the following UCI 1.1, 1.2 and WC events: GP de Dottignies (April 5), Drentse 8 van Dwingeloo (April 8), Unive Ronde van Drenthe (April 10), Novilon Eurocup Ronde van Drenthe (April 11), Ronde van Gelderland (April 17), Fleche Wallonne Feminine (April 21), Omloop Door Middag-Humsterland (April 24), GP Stad Roeselare (April 25), GP Elsy Jacobs (May 1) and GP de Luxembourg (May 2).
