Clara Hughes completes her Big Ride of more than 11,000 km
After 110 days of riding, 14 rest days and roughly 12,000 km pedalled, Clara Hughes has reached Ottawa, finishing Clara's Big Ride. The event started March 14 in Toronto. From there, Hughes has ridden in all 10 provinces and three territories. Her goal for this event was to raise awareness for mental-health issues among Canadians. In the first three weeks of the ride, roughly 25,000 people attended the events connected to the ride. Throughout the 110 days for the trip, the event has accrued many notable figures.
