Contador faces one-year ban

Spanish newspaper reporting cycling star to get one-year ban

Spanish newspaper El Pais is reporting today that Alberto Contador, winner of the 2010 Tour de France will receive a one-year ban from the Spanish Cycling Federation. The ban is the result of his positive test for Clenbuterol during this year’s tour.

As a result of the ban, which will be made official Feb. 9 – giving Contador 10 days to appeal – it is likely the UCI will recommend that the Spaniard be stripped of his most recent Tour de France title.
