Cycle for Sight, a fundraising ride for the Foundation Fighting Blindness—and its fastest-growing fundraising initiative—is returning for another haul this year, and the details have been released.

As ever, non-sighted riders and those with low vision are invited and encouraged to participate, whether that means forming a team or riding tandem with a pilot. For all attendees, Cycle for Sight is ideal for those of all skill levels, and with four rides across Canada this year, the numbers for 2016 are hoped to be high.

This year, Cycle for Sight rides will roll out in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and on the West Coast, adding to the already $2.5 million raised for the foundation since the fundraising rides first started.

Highlights for 2016 include:

  • A variety of distances for riders of different skill levels, ranging from 33 km to 160 km.
  • Dedicated mechanical and EMS support during the ride.
  • Frequent rest stops, offering food and beverages for participants.
  • A celebration at the finish line.

That list of features, of course, goes on.

The Cycle for Sight rides of 2016 will kick off on June 4 in Langley, B.C., June 5 in Ottawa, June 18 in Toronto, and in Calgary, riders will hit the road on September 10.
