On Wednesday, Cycling Canada unveiled the lineup of Canadian championship events scheduled to occur nationwide across all disciplines in 2024.

Canadian track nationals 2024

Kicking off the championship season will be the track events, with the Canadian elite, masters and para track championships held at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, ON, from January 5-7. Following that, the Vélodrome Sylvan Adams – Centre Multisports Desjardins in Bromont, QC, will welcome back u-17 and Junior athletes for the second consecutive year. The Centre National de Cyclisme de Bromont will host the championships from March 22-24.

“The 2024 season is set to offer another year of exciting Canadian Championships taking place throughout the nation,” Cycling Canada events and officials manager, Jolène Dupuis said. “These events allow us to celebrate not only our phenomenal homegrown talent but also the wider cycling community, from the local organizers, volunteers and officials who make these events possible to the family and fans who come out in full force to create an inspiring competition atmosphere. We’re very excited to set the stage for another class of champions to earn their spotlight next year.”

On February 10-11, the Canadian e-sports championships will take place. This particular event stands out on the calendar as it provides exceptional accessibility due to its virtual nature. The second edition of the Canadian gravel championships will move to Calgary, AB, with Deadgoat Racing hosting their inaugural championship event on June 16.

Back to Beauce

After previously hosting the masters in 2023, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce will once again host the elite, junior, and para athletes in Saint-Georges, QC, from June 20-23. This year’s Canadian road championships will mark the return of these categories to the Beauce region after a two-year hiatus.

Moving to July, the Club BMX de Vaudreuil-Soulanges in Vaudreuil-Soulanges, QC, will organize the BMX racing Championships on July 6-7.

Mountain bike events begin with the Canadian cross-country Olympic (XCO) and cross-country short track (XCC) championships from July 19 to 21 in Kentville, NS. This event will be hosted for the second time by Trailflow Outdoor Adventures in partnership with the Town of Kentville. Later in the month, Crankworx Events Inc. will organize the enduro (EDR) Championships in the western region, followed by downhill (DH) championships in Sun Peaks, BC, hosted by Sun Peaks Resort and SE Racing. Lastly, the Blacksheep Mountain Bike Club will conclude the mountain bike season by hosting their inaugural Canadian championships for the cross-country marathon (XCM) in Thunder Bay, ON, on September 7.

Cycling Canada is still accepting bids from organizers for the Canadian championships for road (Masters), BMX freestyle and ‘cross.
