Cycling Canada selects Team Canada for WorldTour GPCQM races

Bruno Langlois receives sixth selection for races in Québec City and Montréal

Cycling Canada has named its team for the WorldTour Grand Prix Cyclistes de Québec et de Montréal (GPCQM) on September 7th (Québec City) and 9th (Montréal). The trio of Alex Cataford, Pier-André Coté and Bruno Langlois return to Team Canada for the second consecutive year. Cataford has represented Canada for five consecutive years at the Laurentian Classics while Langlois is included for the sixth time in eight editions.

Joining the trio are Coté’s Silber teammates Adam Roberge and Nicolas Zukowsky, Edward Walsh of T. Palm-Pole Continental Wallon, and James Piccoli, winner of the Tour de Beauce and recent seventh place finisher at the Colorado Classic.

Team manager Kevin Field said, “This year, we’ll have more Canadians than ever in the race – between Team Canada, Team Rally, Israel Cycling Academy, Astana and Mitchelton-Scott we’ll have up to 16 Canadians in the race. Team Canada’s plan is to put on a show, get in the breakaways and ignite the crowd. We’ll have four debutantes and three race veterans in the Team Canada line up, anchored by team captain Bruno.”

Last year Cataford, Coté and Langlois were on a team with Antoine Duchesne, Alexander Cowan, Matteo Dal Cin, Ryan Anderson, Jack Burke and Marc-antoine Soucy.

Two time Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec winner Peter Sagan will miss the race to contest the Vuelta a España.
