Collingwood’s Devon Clarke took a dominant victory at the Blue Mountains Gravel Fondo, winning by over seven minutes. Clarke beat Tessa Neefjes (Liv factory team), who placed second, and Ella Bloor, finishing in 4:09:20. The Canadian national gravel champion excelled in the race, taking over from the early parts of the race. It was a special win for Clarke, as she is a local to the area and knows the roads well.

The idyllic setting of Grey County serves as the backdrop for the Blue Mountain Gravel Fond. The race features multitude of road surfaces, and takes advantage of the features offered by the Niagara Escarpment and Beaver Valley, giving participants a wild ride through the challenging climbs and mixed surfaces.

Notably, the Blue Mountain Gravel Fondo holds the prestigious status of being a qualifying event for the UCI World Championship Gravel Event. Those who do well in this competition will earn their spot in the top 25 per cent of each age group, securing their qualification for the 2023 UCI world championship gravel race, on October 8 and 9 in Veneto, Italy.
