Western Canada’s powerhouse development team, Trek Red Truck, is set to take on BC Superweek. The event kicks off Friday with the Tour de Delta’s MK Delta Criterium. After Delta, there’s the UBC Grand Prix on July 14. Next, on July 15, the Gastown Grand Prix, which is part of the USA Crits series, hits Vancouver. The Giro di Burnaby and the two-day Tour de White Rock round things out.

“BC Superweek is the pinnacle of our season,” said team director Steve Engh. “Our team ramps up to go head to head with some of the top cycling talent in North America. It’s great to have such high calibre races on our West Coast home turf. We are so grateful to such sponsors such as Allstream and Global Relay for making it happen.”

TRT is now in its 21st season, making it Western Canada’s longest running racing team. It’s women’s roster includes Denise Ramsden, her co-captain Leah Guloien, national junior champion Gillian Ellsay and Sara Bergen. On the men’s side, both former Canadian cyclocross champion Craig Richey and under-23 national cyclocross champion Michael van den Ham will lead. Nic Hamilton and Dylan Davies will be supporting from the sidelines due to recent injuries.
