Gallery: Opus gather industry friends for day of informal winter racing

Embracing winter conditions for a day of fun capped off with maple syrup

Opus Bike knows that to live in Canada and be a cyclist it’s important to embrace the winter. That means riding outside, celebrating the cold weather and most importantly doing everything in your power to enjoy it.

The winter months may feel like they drag on, especially when spring is right around the corner, but getting outside and doing activities that take advantage of the snow conditions makes the season all the more memorable.

With that in mind, Opus Bike got the office and industry friends together for an unofficial winter bike race they called “Break the Ice”. Like Canadians who head out into the cold to plow skating rinks on frozen lakes, fields or in backyards the Opus Bike crew headed out to prep a course to race.

A group of product managers, designers, marketers and brand ambassadors gathered in the snow for a day full of friendly competition, a BBQ, maple syrup and a good alround time.

To tackle the conditions the Opus group were riding the all-around Mullard 29er-plus which is a rigid all-terrain trail bike and the Spark Ae a versatile road adventurer.
