Get dirty with IMBA Canada in 2014

Mountain bike clubs across Canada have a chance to get a visit from the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew in 2014. The application window opened Sept. 23 and runs until Nov. 4.

The Trail Care Crew attends events all over Canada. Supported by Parks Canada, as well as Subaru and Thule, the crew is made up of two professional trail builders who teach methods of sustainable trail design and construction.

The crew can also help clubs with growing a more active member base, working with land managers, and collaborating with local health agencies to promote a healthier lifestyle.

At the core of their efforts, the trail building school consists of a half-day classroom session followed by a day and a half of hands-on trail work. These sessions are typically planned for weekends to help draw out as many participants as possible.

The trail crew is presently in Newfoundland, and will be running a session this weekend in St. John’s.

Next year marks the fifth year for the Canadian Trail Care Crew.
