Gord Fraser finds new roles with Quarq and Silber Pro Cycling

Canada’s Gord Fraser will take on a new position as Power Coach for the power meter manufacturer Quarq. In addition to his new role, he will occasionally direct the nation’s newest continental team Silber Pro Cycling.

“Looking forward to sharing my experience as athlete and coach with Quarq, the leader in power measurement for bicycles,” Fraser posted on LinkedIn. He will support the brand with coaching and communications.

In January, the former Team Medique announced that it had achieved continental status from the UCI and had changed title sponsors to become Silber Pro Cycling.

“I watched the Medique team last year and was impressed with their talent and work ethic,” Fraser said. “I’m glad to see a fledgling new cycling project in Canada and hope that this will grow into a bigger team in the near future.”

The team’s owner Scott McFarlane reached out to Fraser, asking him to lend his directing expertise at some races throughout the 2014 season.

“I’m helping out the team with a planned altitude camp here in Tucson prior to the Tour of the Gila,” Fraser said. “I’m set to direct them at Gila, Philly Classic and Grand Prix Cycliste de Saguenay races.”
