Hamilton Foundation accepting athlete funding applications

Aspiring Canadian road cyclists can now apply for funding from the Hamilton Foundation for the 2011 season.

Aspiring Canadian road cyclists can now apply for funding from the Hamilton Foundation for the 2011 season.

The foundation awards $2,500 grants each year to developing elite women and U23 men to help support their training and racing.

There are a few restrictions: Applicants cannot have an income of more than $50,000, they must be Canadian citizens, show a long-term commitment to racing and be ready to take part in national team development projects.

The funds are a legacy from the 2003 Hamilton road world championships.

Applications must be submitted to the Canadian Cycling Association no later than March 14. For more information, and for an application form, visit the CCA website here.
