Upperton retired from bobsleigh, but has continued to work with an assortment of organizations. During her time in India, she will be joining Dr. Unni Karunakara, former president of MSF, who is riding across India to raise funds for the disaster relief agency.

Along the way, Upperton will visit both a tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS clinic to see what sort of work MSF does in the field. Her trip will extend from Bangalore to Vellore and will take part in the Bangalore Cycles event, a ride with approximately 200 cyclists.
